Disclosed are a method and apparatus for transmitting point to multi-point (P2MP) data based on a sub-group in a multi-protocol label switching-traffic profile (MPLS-TP) network. According to the present invention, the method for transmitting a data packet in a P2MP packet transmission system, comprises the following steps: a branch node receives sub-group information from a source node; the branch node receives a data packet from the source node; the branch node determines whether the sub-group, indicated by the data packet, is indicated by the sub-group information; when the sub-group, indicated by the data packet, is indicated by the sub-group information, the branch node determines a reception leaf node which is to transmit the data packet based on the sub-group and the sub-group information; and the branch node transmits the data packet to the reception leaf node, and blocks a remaining path except a path transmitted to the reception leaf node. |
