<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that transfers toner images with multiple colors including special color in an overlapped state on a transferred body, and is less likely to create abnormal images such as residual images on output images without an increase in size and cost of the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is configured to select a special bias application mode for applying a transfer bias to a third transfer member 9W, in a state where a third image carrier 1W is in contact with a transferred body 8 while the third image carrier 1W is not relatively separated from the transferred body 8 by multiple separation means 71 to 73, even in the case where a toner image is formed with special toner on the third image carrier 1W but not transferred to the transferred body 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
