PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit, when switching an engine to reduced cylinder operation and when unlocking a lock member of a lock mechanism in a variable valve timing mechanism, failure in unlocking of the lock member.SOLUTION: When switching an engine to reduced cylinder operation and when unlocking operation of a lock member of a lock mechanism in a variable valve timing mechanism, until the unlocking operation of the lock member is completed (when determination at a step S26 is YES), supplied hydraulic pressure from an oil pump is set to be not more than an upper limit hydraulic pressure value which allows the unlocking operation of the lock member. |
