ORGANIC COLLOIDAL DISPERSION OF IRON PARTICLES, METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME AND USE THEREOF AS FUEL ADDITIVE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES

Colloidal dispersion comprises amorphous particles of an iron compound and optionally particles of a rare earth metal compound in an organic phase containing an amphiphile. Independent claims are also included for: (1) production of the colloidal dispersion by reacting a complex of an iron salt and a water-soluble carboxylic acid having a pKa of at least 3 with a base at a pH of 8 or less, contacting the resulting precipitate with an organic phase containing an amphiphile, and optionally mixing the resulting dispersion with a colloidal dispersion of a rare earth metal compound in an organic phase; and (2) a motor fuel containing the colloidal dispersion.
