PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid type construction machine which makes water droplets less likely to enter into a power storage device.SOLUTION: A hybrid type construction machine according to the invention includes: an engine (1); a work machine (70); a cab (3); electric motors (2, 9); a power storage device (8); and a cooling unit (150) which cools the power storage device. The cooling unit includes: a case (151) which has a sealed structure and stores the power storage device therein, the case where a passage (180), in which air for cooling the power storage device is circulated, is formed; a blower (153) which is provided in the case and circulates the air in the case along the passage; and a temperature control heat exchanger (152) which is provided in the case and cools the air circulating in the case. The power storage device is installed at a position in the case which does not face an outlet of the air cooled by the temperature control heat exchanger (152).
