PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can be reduced in size in the vertical direction and can reduce running cost.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a main body casing 2 that has a main body opening 10; a top cover 11 that opens and closes the main body opening 10; a process cartridge 15 that includes a drum cartridge 18 and a developing cartridge 19; and a scanner unit 16 that is arranged to have at least a part thereof overlapping with the process cartridge 15 when viewed from the fore-and-aft direction. A projection 93 of the process cartridge 15 is engaged with an engaging part 83 of the top cover 11. While the top cover 11 is at an opening position, a process cartridge 15 is located at a take-out position so that the developing cartridge 19 can pass above the scanner unit 16 to be removably attached to the drum cartridge 18 of the process cartridge 15 at the take-out position. |
