PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device for inputting characters representing an address using a recognition processing capable of efficiently inputting by correctly recognizing the characters.SOLUTION: The character input method which uses a recognition processing includes: a first input step in which characters of a character type indicated by an input mode which is changed according to an input item are recognized and input first; an address input step in which an address corresponding to an input postal code is input in an address position; and a second input step in which, in the case when characters are input following the address input in the address position in the address input step, characters of specific character type are recognized and input first after changing the mode to an address-limited character prior-conversion mode in which predetermined specific characters are recognized first irrespective of input mode corresponding to the input item of the address. |
