The present invention relates to an LPR system for the recognition of a compact vehicle and a two-wheel vehicle, which can classify a vehicle as a compact vehicle and a two-wheel vehicle according to a percentage of an area occupied by the vehicle in an original image to easily charge a fee. The LPR system for the recognition of a compact vehicle and a two-wheel vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a photographing module to photograph an original image including a license plate of a vehicle; a vehicle recognition module to receive the original image photographed by the photographing module to determine whether the vehicle photographed in the original image belongs to a prescribed classification vehicle type; and a number recognition module to receive the original image photographed by the photographing module to recognize characters of the license plate of the vehicle. The prescribed classification vehicle type includes a compact vehicle and a two-wheel vehicle.
