<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a glass fine particle deposited body capable of obtaining excellent optical transmission characteristic when forming an optical fiber therefrom by suppressing generation of waving to the utmost. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for producing a glass fine particle deposited body 14, at least one burner 13 is arranged on an opposite position to a starting rod 12 rotating around a shaft, and while reciprocating the starting rod 12 and the burner 13 relatively in the axial direction of the starting rod 12, glass fine particles generated by a hydrolysis reaction by a flame of the burner 13 are sprayed onto the starting rod 12 to deposit the glass fine particles thereon. Reciprocating speed and rotational speed of the starting rod 12 are adjusted corresponding to a reciprocating distance of one reciprocation so that a rotation position of the starting rod 12 is shifted by a half cycle from an original position when the starting rod 12 is returned to the original position after one round trip of relative reciprocation of the starting rod 12 and the burner 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
