<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of capacitors and to reduce the number of conductive states of switching devices in a five-level power conversion apparatus.SOLUTION: Capacitors C1 through C4 are sequentially connected in series between positive and negative electrodes P and N of a DC voltage source. Switching devices S7 and S8 are sequentially connected in series between both terminals of the capacitor C2. Switching devices S9 and S10 are sequentially connected in series between both terminals of the capacitor C3. Switching devices S3 and S4 are sequentially connected in series between the positive electrode P of the DC voltage source and a common connection point of the switching devices S7 and S8. Switching devices S5 and S6 are sequentially connected in series between a common connection point of the switching devices S9 and S10 and the negative electrode N of the DC voltage source. Switching devices S1 and S2 are sequentially connected in series between a common connection point of the switching devices S3 and S4 and a common connection point of the switching devices S5 and S6.</p> |
