Provided is a laser light source apparatus with which it is possible to avoid the loss caused by excessive excitation of a solid-state amplifier when output of pulse light from the apparatus is temporarily stopped, and with which deterioration in the beam propagation properties immediately after output is restarted can be avoided. The laser light-source apparatus comprises: fiber amplifiers (20, 30) and a solid-state amplifier (50) which amplify the pulse light output from the seed light source (10) by gain switching; non-linear optical elements (60, 70) which perform wavelength conversion on pulse light outputted from the solid-state amplifier; a light-switching element (40) which allows or hinders the propagation of pulse light from the fiber amplifier to the solid-state amplifier; and a control unit (100) which controls the light-switching element (40) so as to hinder the propagation of light during output of pulse light from the seed light source (10) and allows the propagation of light while pulse light is not being output from the seed light source, thereby generating an output stopped state in which the output of pulse light from the optical elements (60, 70) is stopped. |
