<p>Treating biomass containing nitrogen, preferably biomass containing chicken excrement, comprises (a) subjecting the biomass at a dry matter content of less than 70%, preferably less than 50%, to an ammonia fermentation, and (b) removing ammonia during the ammonia fermentation by a stripping gas and/or by precipitation, preferably as magnesium ammonium phosphate, from the biomass. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for treating biomass containing nitrogen, preferably for executing the method, comprising at least one container, which is suspended and/or fixed on a support and/or contains immobilized microorganisms and/or enzymes for ammonia fermentation.</p> |
