The present invention relates to a method and a system for updating a drug library of a drug injection pump. The method comprises the following steps: a) a medical team terminal delivers drug library information to a smart pump management system connected to an external network when a medical team inputs the drug library information in the medical team terminal; b) the smart pump management system stores the drug library information delivered from the medical team terminal; c) the drug injection pump requests a drug library version to the smart pump management system connected to the external network when the medical team turns on the power in the drug injection pump; d) the smart pump management system delivers the corresponding drug library information to the drug injection pump when a new version of the drug library exists; and e) the drug injection pump is operated in accordance with the delivered drug library and the set operation information when the medical team completes a setting of the operation information to the drug injection pump. Accordingly, by checking an operation state of the drug injection pump in real time through a manager terminal, connected to an internal network, and the medical team terminal, connected to the external network, and controlling the drug injection pump wirelessly connected through the smart pump management system as well as updating the drug library in real time, the present invention can quickly monitor a state of a patient receiving a drug in real time, and easily update the drug library through the medical team terminal or the manager terminal.
