摘要 The present invention relates to a water quality and toxicity evaluation method. The method includes the steps of: (a) adding a water body sample in a culturing vessel; (b) inputting the latent bud separated from Spirodela polyrhiza in the culturing vessel containing the water body sample; (c) culturing and germinating the latent bud input to the culturing vessel; and (d) measuring the length of the roots of the Spirodela polyrhiza formed by germinating the latent bud. According to the present invention, the water quality and toxicity evaluation method uses the hibernating latent bud separated from the fronds of Spirodela polyrhiza as a marker material for evaluating the toxicity and quality of water. The present invention uses the length of the roots of the Spirodela polyrhiza formed by germinating the latent bud as a parameter to take roughly only three days for determining the toxicity and quality of water. The present invention has high sensitivity to toxic water source and can evaluate the water quality contamination caused by various toxic substances.
