PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact and an electric connector wherein contact reliability of contact parts of first elastic contact arms contacting with conductive pads of an IC package and the contact parts of second elastic contact arms contacting with conductive pads of a circuit board can be improved. SOLUTION: Contacts 30, 40 in the electric connector 1 are provided with nearly rectangular substrate parts 31, 41 which are fixed to contact housing cavities 16, 17 of a housing 10 and extending in the vertical direction, with coupling pieces 32, 42 extending from the substrate parts 31, 41 in the direction perpendicular to the main surface of the substrate parts 31, 41, with first elastic contact arms 34, 44 that are extending diagonally upward from the tips of the coupling parts 32, 42 and that have contact parts 34c, 44c contacting with the conductive pads of the IC package PKG, and with the second elastic contact arms 35, 45 that are extending diagonally downward from the tips of the coupling pieces 32, 42 and that have contact parts 35c, 45c contacting with the conductive pads of the circuit board PCB.
