PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication equipment of a container terminal and a communication method of the container terminal, surely communicating with AGV without interference. SOLUTION: The container terminal side and the AGV10 are both provided with user communication devices 25, 26, 10a, and the respective laser communication devices 10a, 25, 26 are used to transmit and receive the positional information of the AGV10 and the information on operation control between the AGV10 and the container terminal side. Thus, communication can be surely realized without interference regardless of the storage status of the container. Further, the laser beams emitted from the laser communication devices 25, 26 are scanned along the traveling lane of the AGV10 at a predetermined depression angle, whereby the laser communication devices 25, 26 of the container terminal side can be communicated with the plurality of AGVs.
