Method of disinfecting drain water, in particular from horticultural enterprises, characterized in that the drain water is admixed with a (preferably aliphatic) percarboxylic acid (preferably peracetic acid), preferably from 0.07 to 0.30 mol of percarboxylic acid being added per m3 of drain water, and in that the drain water is preferably subjected (for from 15 to 60 minutes) to UVC radiation, the dose being preferably in the range of from 700 to 2000 J/l of drain water. |
