PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a short fiber-containing rubber containing the short fiber homogeneously dispersed in a base rubber. SOLUTION: The method for producing the short fiber-containing rubber includes a step for kneading a mixed material containing the short fiber having the surface covered with a process oil and/or a plasticizer, and obtained by kneading the process oil and/or the plasticizer with the short fiber in a closed kneader, and the base rubber by the closed kneader.
