Flotation device and method for removing impurities from an aqueous solid matter suspension

The device has flotation containers (1a-1c) including respective suspension inlets (5), suspension outlets (6) and collection devices for foam fraction. The inlet of the container (1b) is formed by drop height (H) of an aqueous solid matter suspension (S) from the outlet of the container (1a). A guiding channel is provided in a region of the drop height for guiding the suspension in the containers. The guiding channel includes disruption elements for impairing laminar flow of the suspension along the guiding channel. The disruption elements are formed by openings in the guiding channel. An independent claim is also included for a flotation method for removing impurities from an aqueous solid matter suspension.
