<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device securing a wider display area without deteriorating portability. <P>SOLUTION: Base casings (20, 30, 40) are provided with display panels (22, 32, 42) on surfaces in the same direction. The base casing (30) is slidable with respect to the base casing (20) between a concealment position for concealing the display panel (32) and an exposing position for exposing the display panel (32). The base casings (20, 30) are signal-connected at the position of exposing the display panel (32), and signal connection is interrupted at the position of concealing the display panel (32). The base casing (40) is slidable with respect to the casing (30) between the concealment position of covering the display panel (42) and the exposing position of exposing the display panel (42).
