<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blank folding apparatus and a blank folding method that enable a high-speed blank transportation of a blank.SOLUTION: A blank folding apparatus comprises transportation mechanisms 12, 14 that transport a blank 2, a front folding member 30 that folds a front part of the blank transported by the transportation mechanisms, and a control part that controls an action of the front folding member. The control part is so constituted as to be able to execute an advance control to advance folded parts 32a, 32b to a transport passage so that the front part of the blank may be folded by pressing the front part with tips 33, 33 of the folded parts, a folding control to stop an action of the folded part so that the blank as the tip of the folded part keeps a contact may be transported by a predetermined distance to get the front part folded further after the advance control, or to move the folded part in a transport direction at a slower speed than a blank transport speed, and a receding control to move the folded part in a transport direction at a slower speed than a blank transport speed after the folding control, and to retreat the folded part from the transport passage.</p> |
