[Class 140] [Also in Group XIII] A panel for constructional purposes is formed from at least one layer of a number of tubular elements arranged side by side and bonded together by an adhesive and presenting a substantially hexagonal or octagonal structure in end view. Several layers of tubes of circular section may be coated with adhesive and subjected to pressure in two directions at right angles. If spacing blocks are inserted to stagger the' elements and pressure is exerted in the direction of the rows at right angles thereto, a hexagonal structure may be produced. If the tubes are at right angles in adjacent layers, an octagonal structure may be produced. Flat sheets 4 may be secured to each face. The tubular elements may be of straw, cane, bamboo, artichoke-stems, rubber, paper or deformable plastics, and the adhesive may be glue, rubber solution, bituminous bonding material, synthetic cement or synthetic resin adhesives. |
