<p>A gutter overflow shield 10 for a guttering system of a building comprises a shield element 11 for location between a guttering channel 3 and a building wall, and an overflow spout 15. The shield catches and directs any rainwater overflowing from the rainwater guide away from the building, providing a visible indication to the user that the guttering system is 10 blocked, whilst shielding the building from the overflowing water to mitigate against water damage. The shield may comprise a hole surrounding and sealing a downpipe. The shield may be attached to the channel and the downpipe via a mount. Also claimed is a header for a guttering system which comprises a catch basin and a shield. The header further comprises at least one weir formation to guide overflowing water towards the spout. A removable strainer fitted within the basin catches debris, preventing it from entering the downpipe.</p> |
