Provided is a molding die with which insert adjustment and replacement operations can be accomplished in simple fashion, and with which the tilt of the molded article can be adjusted with high accuracy, in lenses having strict standards as to optical performance, such as pickup lenses or compound eye lenses. This molding die (40) for an optical element is provided with an insert (60a) situated at the distal end (51a) with a forming surface (51a) that corresponds to an optical surface (SO1) at one side of an optical element, i.e., a lens (LP), and to a flange surface (FS1) constituting the peripheral surface thereof, and with a template (60b) for holding the insert (60a); and has a fastener (FX) for fastening the insert (60a) to a cavity (63a) of the template (60b) from the die matching surface (PS1). By contacting an abutting portion (ZU) situated in the upper part of the insert (60a), the fastener (FX) performs positioning of the insert (60a) with respect to the template (60b) in the direction of the die matching surface (PS1), and tilt adjustment with respect to the die matching surface (PS1). |
