Provided is a discharge device allowing a stable discharge capability to be maintained even in a high humidity environment or a salt-containing atmospheric environment. The discharge device comprises a discharge electrode (11) discharging when a voltage is applied, a base plate (15) supporting the discharge electrode (11), a guiding electrode (12) disposed apart from the discharge electrode (11), and an insulator (14) sealing the entirety of the base plate (15) and the guide electrode (12). The discharge electrode (11) comprises a root portion (11a) supported by the base plate (15), an apex (11b) protruding from the insulator (14) surface (14s), and a taper portion (11c) tapering from the root portion (11a) to the apex (11b). The peripheral surface (11s) of the root portion (11a) comprises a material that has less ionization tendency than hydrogen. |
