<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake scram method and apparatus wherein, by measuring relative displacement generated between a nuclear reactor building and adjacent buildings or the nuclear reactor building and a peripheral ground, a nuclear reactor is automatically stopped, and the nuclear reactor can be safely stopped even when encountering with the earthquake beyond an expected level. <P>SOLUTION: The earthquake scram method includes: a relative displacement measuring step of measuring the relative displacement between the nuclear reactor building 2 and a turbine building 3 which is a building adjacent to this nuclear reactor building 2 or the relative displacement between the nuclear reactor building 2 and the peripheral ground 2a adjacent to this nuclear reactor building 2; and a scram signal output step of outputting a scram signal to automatically stop the nuclear reactor when the displacement data output by this measuring step exceeds a preset threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
