A line beam system includes a single-emitter light engine including a plurality of single-emitter diode lasers which are individually separated. Each emitter emits a diode laser beam. A beam spacing optic device is optically coupled to the single-emitter light engine and is located to provide the propagation axes of the diode laser beams in a close-packed parallel configuration. A light pipe with a longitudinal axis is located to provide an output beam with a homogenized intensity profile through one or more axes by receiving the close-packed combined beam and reflecting the beam in the light pipe. Coherence reduction is produced by the diffraction of the close-packed combined beam or by the propagation in the light pipe. |
