a scanner (14) to create an image of document content of a document (1); a processor (12) in communication with the scanner, the processor being programmed to generate a log of a copy job for copying the document, encode the log using an input image to produce a data-bearing halftone image, and merge the data-bearing halftone image with the document content image; and a printer (16) in communication with the processor to print the merged data-bearing halftone image and the document content image to produce a copy (2) of the document. |
