<p>An airport runway arrangement for commercial aircraft, comprises a first runway section 202-1, a second runway section 202-2 extending substantially in prolongation of the first runway section 202-1 and an intermediate section 210-3 between the first and second runway sections. The intermediate section 210-3 is designated as an intermediate safety area not used by aircraft under normal operation of said airport runway arrangement. Further safety areas 210-1, 210-2 are provided at each end of the runway sections 202-1, 202-2 opposite to the intermediate section.</p> |
