HYDROPHILIC GUM BASE A gum base comprising: a) a hydrophilic precursor component comprising hydrolysable units; and b) a copolymer of a hydrophilic monomer with a second monomer selected from vinyl acetate, isobutylene, isoprene, butyl rubber or styrene butadiene.
