The present invention relates to a composition containing an extract or fraction of buxus koreana to prevent, improve or treat asthma, as active ingredients. According to the present invention, an extract or fraction of buxus koreana can reduce the hypersensitivity of airway and also suppress the growth of IgE within the blood and the respiratory′s dead cell washing liquid and the development of Th2 cytokine(IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13) within the lung, and thus the product can be useful in overcoming the side effects of the existing asthma drugs and preventing, treating and improving asthma by using non toxic ingredients with excellent effects.
