<p>Disclosed are a driving apparatus for a crop shear, and a control method thereof. According to the present invention, the driving apparatus for a crop shear comprises: a metal detecting unit to detect a bar transferred by a roller table from a previous process; an entry detecting unit installed between the metal detecting unit and the crop shear to detect an entry status of the bar; an encoder to measure a rotation speed of a driving roll which drives the roller table; a crop shear driving unit to drive the crop shear and cutting the bar; and a control unit which counts a fore-end position of the bar in accordance with the rotation speed of the driving roll measured by the encoder when the bar is detected by the metal detecting unit, and corrects the fore-end position based on the entry status of the bar detected by the entry detecting unit and outputs an operating signal to the crop shear driving unit when the fore-end position reaches the cutting position of the bar entered by a higher control unit.</p> |
