A method of riveting together two pieces of material one at least of which consists of nylon or like plastic material comprises forming an annular recess d in the nylon piece a at the root of a rivet or rivets b formed in the nylon piece, squeezing the two pieces to be connected between a pair of plates e and f, the plate f in contact with the nylon piece having a convex protuberance g coaxial with the rivet or each rivet, and forming a head on the rivet or each rivet for securing the two pieces together. |
