According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for matching surface models comprises: an input and output interface for receiving a reference surface model and a floating surface model; a memory for storing a command which matches the reference surface model and the floating surface model; and a processor for matching the reference surface model and the floating surface model in accordance with the command. The command comprises: a step of comparing a depth image of the reference surface model and the floating surface model, and selecting an initial variable parameter corresponding to the floating surface model; a step of converting the floating surface model in accordance with the initial variable parameter; a step of applying a singular vague decomposition to a cross-covariance matrix between the reference surface model and the floating surface model, and calculating a corrected variable parameter through the calculated matrix; and a step of converting the floating surface model in accordance with the corrected variable parameter, and matching the reference surface model and the floating surface model.
