Disclosed is a car navigation system which can be operated only with a low specification CPU and a small capacity storage device by receiving the position information of a car, searching a map, and storing the map using a portable terminal. The car navigation system receives environment setting resources from a web server, patches a web browser-based user interface by selectively updating the received environment setting resources, and displays the patched user interface. The car navigation system comprises: a first communication part for receiving the position information of a car from a portable terminal, transmitting a request message to the portable terminal, and receiving result information responding to the request message from the portable terminal; a display part for displaying the received position information and result information of the car on the web browser-based user interface; and a control part for determining whether or not to maintain the version information of the user interface when an input event on the user interface is detected or to transmit the version information of the user interface to a web server. |
