PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter removal device in which the foreign matter such as barnacles deposited on shellfish shells can sufficiently be removed without breaking the shellfish shells.SOLUTION: A foreign matter removal device includes a clamp-type conveyor for holding and conveying shellfishes, and foreign matter removal means for removing foreign matter deposited on shellfish shells. The clamp-type conveyor has a clamp for clamping to cover a portion of the shellfishes. The foreign matter removal means has a rotating brush having a plurality of brush parts comprising heads having elasticity. The rotating brush is configured to rotate vertically to the traveling direction of the shellfishes when conveyed by the clamp-type conveyor, and from the protection side covered with the clamp of the shellfishes toward the non-protection side which is not covered.
