<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of effectively increasing the capacity of a nonvolatile memory means in which information for executing prescribed control is previously stored. <P>SOLUTION: A display control device 100 has a VDP 105. The VDP 105 creates image-drawing data for an image-drawing area 135 based on an image-drawing command from a display CPU 102. The image data to be processed in creating the image-drawing data are previously stored in a character ROM 106. In this embodiment, the display control device 100 has a writing control part 121. The writing control part 121 reads image data from the character ROM 106 based on a transfer command from the display CPU 102, and transfers the read image data to a bridge-side RAM 107.
