MOLTEN SALT BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten salt battery which is improved in safety and can be used with stability.SOLUTION: A molten salt battery comprises: an electrode group; a molten salt electrolyte; a bottomed case having an opening and housing the electrode group and the molten salt electrolyte; an opening-seal plate; a first external terminal of a first electrode and a second external terminal of a second electrode which are provided on the opening-seal plate; a bus-bar part fixed to the first external terminal; a first insulating part interposed between the first external terminal and the bus-bar part so as to electrically isolate the bus-bar part from the first external terminal; a temperature-fuse part which is electrically connected with the bus-bar part and the first external terminal, and establishes the electrical continuity between the bus-bar part and the first external terminal on condition that an environmental temperature is under a reference temperature T1; and a fixing part which fixes the temperature-fuse part to the opening-seal plate. The molten salt battery is arranged so that a charging current flows from the bus-bar part through the temperature-fuse part and then enters the first external terminal.
