The present invention relates to a method for controlling an object in an electronic device. The method comprises: a screen display process of displaying a screen made up of objects; a user gesture detection process for detecting a user gesture for setting a password in the display screen; and a process of displaying a password input screen when selecting an object of the screen upon detection of the user gesture, and of setting a password of the selected object according a password input.
