Disclosed are a strip winding device and a control method thereof capable of preventing end marks caused when the strips are wound. According to the present invention, the strip winding device comprises: a mandrel body having an inclined surface part formed on an outer surface; a plurality of segment members arranged on the outside of the mandrel body having a contact surface part being in contact with an inclined surface part of the mandrel body; and a stepped part variation device installed in the outside of the mandrel body to be rotated, having a stepped part formed with the segment members to receive the front end of the strips.
