PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vacuum cleaner capable of reliably notifying a user of timing to dispose dust inside a dust collection unit. ! SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner 1 includes: a cleaner body 10 having a blower 12; and a dust collection unit 11 that has a dust collection part 11b for catching dust centrifugally separated from air by rotating air containing the dust sucked by the operation of the blower 12 and can be attached to the cleaner body 10. The cleaner body 10 includes a light source unit 19 arranged at a position opposing to the dust collection part 11b and irradiating the dust collection part 11b with light. The first constitution part constituting the upper part of the dust collection part 11b has the lower transmissivity of light radiated from the light source unit 19 compared with the second constitution part constituting the lower part of the dust collection part 11b. !
