A crossbreed between objects from different ones of the populations is performed, wherein a selection of gene values for the child object is weighted based on the measures for the variations in the values of each gene within the respective populations. |

1. A computer implemented multi-objective optimization method to reduce a likelihood of crossbred children from parents of independently optimized populations having no characteristics of either parent, the method comprising the steps of:
determining, via a computer system, a population of objects for each objective utilizing an optimization process, determining, via the computer system, a measure for the variation in values of each gene within each population, and performing, via the computer system a crossbreed between objects from different ones of the populations, wherein a selection of gene values for the child object is weighted based on the measures for the variations in the values of each gene within the respective populations, the crossbreed providing the multi-objective optimization to reduce the likelihood of crossbred children from parents of independently optimized populations having no characteristics of either parent. |
