PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition whose vulcanizate has excellent tensile characteristics.SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains: a diene polymer (A) containing 10 mass% or more of an acid-modified diene polymer (a1); a reinforcing filler (B); and a nitrone (C) having two or more nitrone groups in the molecule. The content of the reinforcing filler (B) is 20-120 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene polymer (A), and the content of the nitrone (C) is 0.1-5 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene polymer (A).
