AUTHENTICATION METHOD FOR BIOMETRIC SYSTEMS

An authentication method for biometric systems is provided to search a plurality of biometric information previously registered on a database and to perform individual authentication by checking whether the entered biometric information corresponding to identifier ID information belongs to the searched ranking. The authentication method for biometric systems comprises the steps of: receiving an input of biometric information and identifier ID information from a random user; matching each of a plurality of biometric information registered on a database and the biometric information and calculating the similarity for each of the plurality of biometric information; determining if the entered biometric information corresponding to the identifier ID information from among the plurality of biometric information belongs to the previously set ranking scope from among the search ranking on the basis of the search ranking where the plurality of biometric information is aligned in a descending order of similarity; and, if the entered biometric information belongs to the ranking scope, performing individual authentication for the user.
