PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure travel performance in the case of being unable to change an operation characteristic of an intake valve to a desired operation characteristic in a hybrid vehicle having a variable valve device used for changing the operation characteristic of the intake valve.SOLUTION: A control device 200 is for use in selecting, for traveling, either of a CS (Charge Sustaining) mode for maintaining an SOC of a power storage device B within a given range and a CD (Charge Depleting) mode for giving priority to consuming the SOC compared with the CS mode. In the case of being unable to change an operation characteristic of an intake valve 118 to a desired operation characteristic, the control device 200 changes a condition for switching from the CS mode to the CS mode so as to switch from the CD mode to the CS mode at a higher SOC than in the case of being able to change the operation characteristic of the intake valve 118 to the desired operation characteristic. |
