The present invention relates to a composition comprising gomisin J as an active ingredient for preventing or treating hypertension. Gomisin J of the invention directly acts on vascular smooth muscles to relieve blood vessels and reduces the tension of blood vessels by depending on concentration to produce an independent relaxation effect of endothelium cells, thus being advantageously useful in preventing or treating hypertension.
