A lock for fastening a window (W, fig. 3) to a structure (F, fig. 3), the window having a first, preferably closed position, and a second, preferably ajar position, having a locking arrangement 10, securable to the window, with first 14 and second 16 locking assemblies operable to move between locking and release configurations, the lock including a keep (12, fig. 3) securable to the structure, wherein the first assembly engages the keep in its locking configuration when the window is closed, and the second assembly engages the keep in its locking position when the window is ajar, engagement of either assembly with the keep in its locked condition fastening the window to the structure to prevent unauthorised opening. The lock may have an operating assembly 18 having a handle 22 to operate both first and second assemblies. Mushroom bolts (26, fig. 3) of the first assembly may slide in the Y direction, whilst bolts (32, fig. 3) of the second assembly may slide in the X direction, into and out of the keep. Also claimed is the second assembly alone. |
