PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyclonal antibody which has a bitter taste receptor T2R activating action.SOLUTION: The invention provides a polyclonal antibody which is a polyclonal antibody prepared from eggs of birds, and has a bitter taste receptor (T2R) activating action. The antibody is preferable to be obtained by immunizing birds using T2R full length protein as an antigen. The antibody concerned can be utilized as a tool which leads to the further elucidation of the physiological function which the bitter taste stimulus itself exerts, or the elucidation of a ligand binding site.
