The present invention relates to a vacuum pump for a vehicle and, more specifically, to a vacuum pump for a vehicle to prevent damage to a vacuum pump due to over torque caused by the enlarged rotation resistance of a rotor and a vane due to the viscosity of residual oil inside the vacuum pump. To achieve this, the vacuum pump for a vehicle comprises: a vacuum pump housing; a rotor accepted in the housing to receive external power and rotate; and a power transmission control member which is arranged between the rotor and a coupler for transmitting external power to selectively transmit the external power to the rotor to make the rotor rotate and which selectively transmits or cut off the external power to the rotor in accordance with the level of the rotation resistance of the rotor in accordance with the transmission of the external power. |
