The UV-irradiation apparatus according to an embodiment is provided with a treatment tank, an ultraviolet ray irradiation member, an ultraviolet ray sensor, and a sludge discharging unit. The treatment tank includes a water supply port for supplying treatment water to be treated, and a water discharge port for discharging treatment water. The ultraviolet ray irradiation member is provided inside the treatment tank and irradiates ultraviolet rays onto treatment water that passes through the inside of the treatment tank. The ultraviolet ray sensor is provided inside the treatment tank and measures the amount of ultraviolet radiation irradiated by the ultraviolet ray irradiation member. The sludge discharging unit is connected to a discharge hole provided at a position below a horizontal plane through which the ultraviolet ray sensor passes, the sludge discharging unit being provided in order to discharge sludge, which has accumulated inside the treatment tank when the treatment water passes through the inside of the treatment tank, through the discharge hole to the outside of the treatment tank. |
